The JCI-CRHG Academy of Hospital Management was recently set up in Hong Kong and Beijing as a joint venture by China Resources Healthcare Company Limited and Joint Commission International (JCI). China Resources Healthcare signed a 20-year exclusivity agreement with JCI, becoming JCI's sole joint venture partner in Mainland China and Hong Kong. This also marks the first time JCI has opened a medical quality management training institution in the form of a joint venture anywhere in the world. This partnership will inject fresh momentum into China’s medical reforms.
The key mission of the JCI-CRHG Academy of Hospital Management is to introduce the most orthodox and authoritative JCI training courses and publications to Chinese medical institutions, as well as to raise the level of local medical practice and theoretical tools of safety management based on this advanced knowledge. This can effectively strengthen the operations and management level of hospitals. Additionally, the Academy will groom a new generation of healthcare management talents, who will combine a global outlook in healthcare management with hands-on experience on home ground. This will spur continuous improvements in the quality of healthcare and safety.
JCI is a part of The Joint Commission (TJC), which was founded in 1951 and is the U.S. healthcare industry's oldest and largest institution for developing and reviewing standards. As a globally-recognized manager of the "gold standard" in medical quality, JCI's business scope now covers more than 100 countries, with nearly 800 medical institutions in more than 60 countries certified by JCI. In recent years, JCI has been increasingly recognized by medical institutions in China. As of November 2015, there were already more than 50 JCI-certified hospitals in Mainland China, setting a strong foundation for medical quality and patient safety.
