On 1 July, the grand opening ceremony of CR Vanguard’s first cross-border e-commerce experience store, ewj shop, took place at Kou’an Building, Haiyun Centre, in Qianhai Free Trade Zone. Related persons in charge from CR Vanguard, as well as the relevant units such as China Merchants Holdings (International) Company Limited, China Merchants Bonded Logistics, and Shenzhen Municipal Economy, Trade and Information Commission attended the opening ceremony.

ewj shop is a collaboration between CR Vanguard and the China Merchants Group. The business area of the experience store reaches 500 sqm, with a duty-free zone and a full-duty zone. All duty-free products are shipped directly from Hong Kong, can be ordered online and offline, and home-delivered, at a price almost the same as that in Hong Kong. In addition to Hong Kong style casual snacks, well-known baby skincare products, and health products from Australia, over 100 proprietary brand products from one of the three major supermarket chains in Korea – homeplus – are also available. Customers can select from the wide array of fresh, full-duty products on-site. The shop essentially offers customers a one-stop shopping experience.

With the opening of the first cross-border e-commerce experience store, ewj shop, customers’ need for the shopping experience at a physical store can be satisfied. At the same time, when opening special zones for cross-border products at other retail outlets, CR Vanguard can also take the store as a reference by evaluating the positioning and operation of the store’s front-end supply chain and its suppliers in Hong Kong.

Director of the Bonded Port Administration of the Qianhai Administrative Authority Liu Xiao, indicated that both China Resources Group and China Merchants Group are executors of the state’s “One Belt, One Road” strategy, and that unique advantages exist in the cooperation between the two parties. The opening of the cross-border e-commerce experience store not only sets a benchmark in the mode of doing business, it promotes the development of cross-border e-commerce in Qianhai as well.
