Recently, two injections, Shenfu and Shenmai Injections, produced by Sanjiu (Ya’an) Co., Ltd., a subsidy of CR Sanjiu, were listed by the National Health and Family Planning Commission in the Program for the Treatment of Patients Inflected with H7N9 Avian Influenza (2013: Edition 2).

Shenfu Injection is a product under national secret protection and one listed in the national medical insurance Class A drug catalogue. In 2011, the injection was recommended by the the Ministry of Health in the Guidelines for the Treatment of Hand, Foot and Mouth Diseases. Inclusion of Shenfu Injection in the 2nd Edition of the Program as an Injection of Chinese medicine demonstrated its unique role in treatment of severe and urgent diseases and re-consolidated its market position in the field of anti-syncope treatment. Shenfu Injection has been listed as a major Chinese medicine, with a series of pharmacological and clinical studies under way in addition to its proved anti-shock function. With the going-on studies, the clinic utilities of the injection will be further developed as an injection of Chinese medicine of multiple special utilities against major infectious diseases.

Shenmai Injection is a product included in the List of National Essential Drugs (Edition 2012). This once again proved its special utilities as a hormone drug among injections of Chinese medicine. It is widely used to treat suspected and confirmed H7N9 cases as well as patients with light symptoms. It is also used to treat critical patents with septic shock. The inclusion of the drug in the List also proves its utilities in treating acute respiratory infections and provides a solid basis for future wide clinical application of the injection.

To ensure the adequate supply Shenfu and Shenmai injections, Sanjiu (Ya’an) fully investigated the production and supporting systems and adjusted the production structure in a timely manner to guarantee the timely production and supply of the injections without compromising the quality.
