China Resources Group ranks 17th in Fortune magazine’s 2016 Most Admired Chinese Companies List, which was announced on the night of October 11. China Resources Group’s rating has risen from last year’s 25th to this year’s 17th, surpassing eight companies. This is the highest rating for all diversified conglomerates in the list.
Fortune magazine conducted research and survey on 294 candidate companies for this rating, and sent out questionnaires to 35,000 senior managers in Chinese companies. Interviewees rated these companies in nine standards, that is, status of product and service, long term investment value, rational utilization of company assets, innovation, management quality, financial soundness and ability to attract and retain talents, corporate social responsibilities and globalized operation. Fifty companies with the highest scores were thus included in the Most Admired Chinese Companies List. Fortune magazine said this list is a barometer of the soft power of Chinese companies which reflects Chinese companies’ pursuit of sustainable and healthful development during current “transitional” period.
