On 27 July, China Resources Group released Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report 2015 on its website. It is the ninth CSR report since the first report issued in 2008. The 78,000-character report comprises nine chapters covering three subject matters, giving a thorough account of CSR-related operations conducted by the group in 2015.
Corporate Social Responsibility Management contains discussions on core issues such as tightening CSR management and compiling CSR planning for the 13th “Five-year Plan” period. In the next five years, the Company will tighten up CSR management and fulfill its CSR responsibilities by setting up a CSR community, stepping up CSR supervision, improving organizational and systemic safeguards, and better managing CSR issues. The Company will comprehensively improve is ability to fulfill its CSR with a unique CSR management model that incorporates strategy, culture, risk control and public opinion management.
CSR Toward Investors discloses information on core issues including investor protection and improving corporate governance. In 2015, the company focused relevant efforts on two main themes, following the philosophy of “making innovations without deviating from orthodoxy” – (i) ensuring business integrity and compliance, improving corporate governance and strengthening risk management and control; (ii) promoting business development and business restructuring, optimizing resource allocation and accelerating innovation-oriented development. Despite the macroeconomic downturn, China Resources Group maintained steady business growth with steady progress in both earnings and overall strength.
CSR Toward Staff discloses information on core issues such as employment contract management and labor rights protection. In 2015, the company sought to address issues raised by staff members revolving around staff structure optimization, creative talent development, reasonable staff incentives, improvements in working environment and timely hearing workers’ requests and acting upon them. Accordingly, employee risk assessment has been effectively controlled, and employee engagement and satisfaction have been maintained at a steady level.
CSR Toward Customers discloses information on core issues such as customer relations management and consumer rights protection. In 2015, the company effected a shift in its management system oriented toward customers and the market, and made consistent efforts to safeguard the interests of its clients and consumers, ensure product and service quality, enhance its independent innovation capabilities, and foster customer relations, providing customers with safe, reliable and innovative products and services.
Environmental Protection CSR discloses information on core issues such as eco-friendly business operations and energy conservation. In 2015, the company further developed its energy conservation management system and continuously adjusted its business structure, eliminating obsolete production capacity through energy saving technological transformation, and reducing resource consumption in production and business operations to minimize environmental pollution.
CSR Toward Partners discloses information on core issues including strategic cooperation, supply chain responsibility and media relations. In 2015, the company continued to build on the strategic sharing mechanism and platform development. The Group introduced anti-corruption mechanisms to the suppliers in order to promote its CSR philosophy among them. In addition, with continuous improvements in public opinion management, the Group responded to negative issues with honesty and sincerity, embracing corporate transparency in business operations.
CSR Toward the Public discloses information on core issues including policy response, occupational safety and collaborative community building. In 2015, the company fulfilled its obligations as a taxpayer in line with relevant policies in China. Also, the company consistently increased its commitment to promote workplace safety operations by improving its occupational safety management system. The company actively developed projects concerning charity fundraising, China Resources Hope Town and fixed-point poverty alleviation. Besides, the company was closely involved in collaborative community building efforts to foster a healthy relationship with local communities.
The focus of this year’s CSR report is on the Group’s CSR plan during the 13th “Five-year Plan” period. The Report provides stakeholders with a thorough, truthful and vivid review of CSR-related operations conducted by the China Resources Group in 2015.
