Group Chairman Fu Yuning was invited to give a speech at the EMBA Forum at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 30 November 2015. Teachers, students and alumni from the Chinese University, as well as industry and business representatives attended the Forum.
During the close to two-hour speech and exchange, Chairman Fu looked back on the 78-year history of CR’s development, and briefed the audience on how CR managed to transform itself successfully against different historical backgrounds. Chairman Fu pointed out that, during the post-crisis era and when China’s economy is slowing down, CR was committed to the business principle of “being pragmatic, getting stronger, becoming bigger, and developing long-term planning”, enhancing corporate governance, improving economic judgment capabilities, enhancing innovative development capabilities, actively responding to challenges, and seizing opportunities. Chairman Fu shared his views on domestic and overseas economic and social trends, and stated that the different reforms in China, such as consumption upgrade, innovation and entrepreneurship, industry transformation, and public facilities, will bring new development opportunities to CR. He stressed that during the 13th Five-Year Plan, CR will be based in Hong Kong, fully utilizing the advantage of the “two markets and two resource types”, relying on its network in China, its product and service capabilities, and its relative advantages in public utilities, as well as its global product sources and advanced technology and services, in order to explore the way to maintain sustainable development, and to provide a solid foundation to build CR into a “century-old establishment”.
Chairman Fu offered his best wishes to the students and had a lively exchange of thoughts on global economic issues with the alumni, students and teachers of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as other related attendees from different fields.
