On 1 November 2015, the “First China Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ” was held in Beijing. At the forum, the Top 100 in corporate social responsibility (CSR) among Chinese enterprises, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, and foreign enterprises was announced. As in every year since 2013, CR has again won the titles of “Excellent Chinese Enterprise in Corporate Social Responsibility” and “Excellent State-Owned Enterprise in Corporate Social Responsibility”. CR’s score on the CSR Development Index was 87, ranking it 7th among China’s Top 100 CSR enterprises, eight places higher than last year.
The CSR indices of 16 key industries too were announced at the forum. CR Power and CR Pharma won the title of “Five-Star CSR Enterprise” within their own industries. Of these, CR Pharma was number one in the CSR Development Index within the pharmaceutical industry, scoring 82.5 points. On the other hand, CR Land has been in the top position within the real estate industry for two consecutive years, scoring 72.9 points. The outstanding CSR achievements made by CR enterprises drew the attention of and won commendations from the participating guests. At the forum, CR, the forum organizers, and over 50 influential Chinese and foreign enterprises jointly issued the “Beijing Declaration on Responsibility Sharing 2025”, in order to promote the comprehensive development of CSR in China.
The forum was jointly organized by the SASAC News Center and the Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the selection results have been published in the “Blue Book on Corporate Social Responsibility (2015)”. The Blue Book has been published for seven consecutive years, and the CSR development index published in the book represents a comprehensive evaluation of the current status of CSR management systems and the level of disclosure on social/environmental information. Evaluation specialists are top authorities in China’s economic, social, and management fields, and command authority in the CSR area in China. They have provided benchmark references for CSR research and assessment.
