On 18 September, under the theme of “Helping the poor, loving China”, the grand opening of the 4th China Charity Fair took place at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, SASAC of the State Council, All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, Guangdong Provincial Government, Shenzhen Municipal Government, and China Charity Alliance. The China Resources Charity Foundation participated in the fair.
CR’s booth was located in the brand display area of no.1 exhibition hall. Development of CR’s designated poverty alleviation programs in Guangchang, Jiangxi Province, and Haiyuan, Ningxia Autonomous Region were highlights of the booth. Using a wealth of vivid graphics, videos and information, the approach and achievements of CR’s poverty alleviation programs were presented in an easy-to-understand manner. Staff from Guangchang, Jiangxi Province, wearing local ethnic clothing producing hand-made lotus cutouts on-site, and a life-sized Haiyuan cow lightbox became major attractions in the CR booth. At the fair, Deputy Director of SASAC, Wang Wenbin visited CR’s booth with interest, learning the details of CR’s poverty alleviation programs. Many visitors showed a lot of interest in CR Charity Foundation, and stopped by to take a look at the exhibits, asked questions, and had a taste of the white lotus.
At the booth of the CR C’estbon 100 Libraries Program nearby, the unique style of the village libraries, and the innocent smile of students from the Hope Primary School in Baise, Guangxi Autonomous Region, wearing special ethnic Zhuang clothing, drew many enthusiastic visitors to the booth, who communicated with the students, as well as giving and donating books to them.
During the fair, CR Charity Foundation was invited to participate in the Global Corporate Social Responsibility Innovation Symposium, and shared the experience of the CR Hope Town project during the event. CR’s Hope Town project was named as the “Outstanding Project in Global CSR Innovation” at the China Charity Fair.
