In the evening of 22 July 2015, Fortune magazine published the 2015 Global 500 ranking. China Resources Group, with a turnover of US$74.8 billion, ranked 115th, up 28 places compared to the previous year, and maintaining this upward trend for several years in a row.

CR started filing with Fortune Global 500 in 2010, and was able to make the Global 500 list that same year, ranking 395th. Since then, its ranking has climbed sharply year after year, ranking 346th in 2011, 233rd in 2012, 187th in 2013, 143rd in 2014, and jumping to 115th in 2015, up by 280 positions within six years. In 2014, China Resources Group posted turnover of RMB461.4 billion, up 14% YoY; total profits of RMB37.5 billion, up 3% YoY; net profits attributable to shareholders of RMB15.1 billion, up 21% YoY. As of the end of 2014, total assets of the Group reached RMB934.6 billion, up 10% YoY.

Prior to 2000, CR’s key business was trading. Since 2001, CR has formulated the strategy of having its base in Hong Kong, engaging mainland China, and using industrialization as the core approach for development. After more than 10 years of unremitting efforts, CR has cultivated a group of enterprises with extensive capabilities, that are industry leaders in their own fields. The Group’s overall strength has been growing rapidly, its position as the industry leader too has been consolidated and enhanced. Currently, CR has become one of the strongest and most diversified enterprises in China and Hong Kong, with seven key business segments under the Group, all in a competitive position. Of these, both CR Enterprise and CR Pharma have posted turnovers exceeding HK$100 billion.

In the 2015 Global 500, the number of Chinese (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) enterprises making the list reportedly reached a new high, increasing from 100 in the previous year to 106. CR ranks 22nd among enterprises in China (including Hong Kong, Taiwan) that have made the list, rising by two places compared to the previous year. This is the fifth consecutive year since 2010 (when CR first entered the Global 500 list) that CR’s ranking has risen in both the Global 500, as well as the list of Chinese enterprises on the Global 500 list.
