On 23 June, the construction of Zunyi CR Hope Town was officially completed. More than 80 people in total attended the completion ceremony, and toured the Zunyi CR Hope Town, including Vice Governor of Guizhou, Wang Jiangping, Vice Mayor of Zunyi, Ao Hong, Group Chairman Fu Yuning, General Manager Qiao Shibo, all Group leaders, and key persons in charge from various departments, SBUs, and grade-1 profit centers.
Vice Governor Wang Jiangping, Chairman Fu Yuning and his delegation first arrived at the observation deck at the Zunyi CR Hope Town to admire the view overlooking the entire Shuishi Dam area in the Zunyi CR Hope Town. They were briefed on the overall construction of the Hope Town by the project team. This was followed by a simple completion ceremony on the observation deck. After the ceremony, the leaders and their delegation visited the new housing at Huangjin Bay, the township health station, rural tourist demonstration sites, the kindergarten, the former residence of Yuan Zitong, Xinhui Plaza, and the integrated service center. At the Hope Town health station, the CR volunteer team comprising specialists from CR Healthcare’s Kunming Children’s Hospital provided free consultations to the villagers of Tucheng town. Vice Governor Wang and Chairman Fu inquired about the villagers’ health conditions in detail, and expressed their gratitude to the medical specialists volunteering on-site. During the visit, Vice Governor Wang and the leaders from Guizhou province and Zunyi spoke highly of Zunyi Hope Town, commending Zunyi Hope Town as a reflection of the Group’s solid work in poverty alleviation and old area redevelopment, reflecting specifically a state-owned enterprise’s fulfilment of its social responsibilities, as well as a successful model of a new rural village development in Guizhou supported by a state-owned enterprise.
Zunyi CR Hope Town is located in Tucheng town, Xishui county, Zunyi city, Guizhou province. It is the 5th Hope Town donated and completed by the Group after Baise in Guangxi, Xibaipo in Hebei, Shaoshan in Hunan, and Gutian in Fujian. The building of the Zunyi CR Hope Town started on 29 December 2012, and is comprised of the two villages of Huangjin Bay and Shuishi Dam, with a total of 336 households, 1,510 residents, and a development area of 1,998.9 acres. After more than two years of hard work, 114 new dwellings and 222 renovated dwelling have been completed, together with supporting facilities including an integrated service center, a villagers’ home, kindergarten, health station, and rural tourist demonstration sites, and other public facilities. In addition, municipal infrastructure has been enhanced, including road reinforcements, artificial wetlands, as well as power grid and water supply upgrades, basically fulfilling the development objective of building a “feature town and an ecologically civilized town in Guizhou”. In the future, the Group will continue to cooperate with Tucheng town, Xishui county, Zunyi city, and Guizhou province, using the Communist history and the Communist culture as the foundation, to develop the rural travel industry and cultural and creative industries, further building Zunyi Hope Town into an “economically vibrant town, a happy and harmonious town”.
