The 3rd China-South Asia Expo and the 23rd China Kunming Import & Export Fair (known as CSA) kicked off at Kunming Dianchi Convention & Exhibition Center on June 12. Chinese Vice Premier Li Yuanchao attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, and high-ranking government officials from many countries also gave keynote speeches at the opening ceremony, including Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen, Laotian Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, Bangladeshi Speaker of Jatiyo Sangshad Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, and Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai. Chairman Fu Yuning was invited to attend the opening ceremony and CR participated in the CSA.

Located in the No.2 Hall, CR's pavilion featured a fashionable and simplistic design. With pictures and texts, objects, multimedia, models and other approaches, the pavilion provided visitors with a window and platform to comprehensively understand CR by vividly displaying its development history, CSR, business profile and investment projects in Yunnan. A model of the Hezhou CR Circular Economy Industrial Demonstration Zone set up in the pavilion attracted the attention of many guests.

Signing ceremonies of a number of economic and trade cooperation projects were held during CSA, covering such fields as infrastructure, trade, logistics, tourism and culture, bio-manufacturing, electronic information and new energy. CR Cement and CR Healthcare respectively signed the Cooperation Agreement between Kunming Iron & Steel Holding and China Resources Cement Holdings Limited and the Framework Agreement on Yuxi Children's Hospital Joint Venture.

China-South Asia Exposition (CSA) is a comprehensive international exposition approved by the State Council of China and is co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Yunnan province, while commercial departments of South Asian countries are invited to join forces in holding the event. It has been held in Kunming annually since 2013. This year's five-day-long CSA was aimed to "promote all-round cooperation and development between China and South Asia” in the theme of “win-win cooperation through sincerity and inclusive benefits”. Consisting of 12 pavilions including the pavilion of foreign countries, pavilion of other provinces and the ASEAN pavilion with more than 6,000 booths, the 3rd CSA was joined by over 3,000 enterprises from 75 countries and regions, attracting more than 20,000 businesspeople. Over 50% of the booths were occupied by foreign participants, covering all eight South Asian countries and 10 ASEAN members.
