The "Xilingol Clean Energy Base Power Source Project Kickoff Rally" was held by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in Xilinhot on the morning of May 6. Fu Taizeng, member of the Inner Mongolia CPC Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the autonomous region, chaired the rally, Secretary of Inner Mongolia CPC Committee Wang Jun announced the kickoff of the project, and Inner Mongolia Governor Bateer gave a pep talk. Deputy Director of National Energy Administration (NEA) Wang Yumin and heads of State Grid, Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute (EPPEI) and China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC) attended the event. Main leaders of project contractors including CR, Shenhua, Huaneng, Datang, Beijing Energy Investment Holding and Inner Mongolia Energy Investment Group gave speeches. Chairman Fu Yuning attended the event and delivered a speech on behalf of CR.
It is learnt that four EHV power transmission lines including the ones from Xilingol to Shandong and Jiangsu respectively are listed in the national plan, and the auxiliary coal-fired power plant project for the Xilingol-Shandong transmission line was approved by NEA in April this year. The rally was held to expedite the above plan and push the construction of the coal-fired power plant. The Xilingol-Shandong project that commenced this time consists of three power plant clusters, namely Shengli of Xilinhot, Wujianfang of West Ujimqin Banner, and Tsagaan Nuur of Abag Banner, which include seven thermal power projects with the total installed capacity of 8620MW and matched with 3000MW wind power. Among them, CR Power will build a 2x660MW coal-fired power plant at Wujianfang mining area as a majority shareholder and another project of the same capacity as a minority shareholder.
After the kickoff rally, Chairman Fu held friendly discussions with Fu Taizeng, member of the Inner Mongolia CPC Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor of the autonomous region, Vice Governor Wang Bo and other leaders about expanding the cooperation between CR and Inner Mongolia to more fields.
Chairman Fu introduced CR's investment projects in Inner Mongolia in such areas as power, gas, pharmaceuticals, retail and beer and its future development plans, and thanked the autonomous region for its support to CR's investment and development here. He hoped to combine CR's industrial advantages with Inner Mongolia's resource edges and further expand and deepen their cooperation. Executive Vice Governor Fu Taizeng expressed his gratitude to CR for its active and diversified investment in Inner Mongolia. He noted that the two sides have enjoyed smooth cooperation and have great potential for future cooperation as well. He welcomed a diversified enterprise like CR to come to Inner Mongolia and hoped the two sides can follow up on the various cooperation projects they discussed, intensify package cooperation, and boost the economic growth in the autonomous region. Leaders from Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission, Commission of Economy & Information Technology, Water Conservancy Bureau, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Bureau as well as Xilingol League were present at the meeting.
In the afternoon, Chairman Fu inspected the CR Vanguard shopping mall in Xilinhot, and then went to the Wujianfang mining area in West Ujimqin Banner, where he inspected the site of the 2x660MW power plant that CR Power will construct soon, and listened to the report made by the company undertaking the integrated coal-power project. Chairman Fu learnt about the project progress since 2007, its current difficulties and future work plans, and spoke highly of the project personnel's dedication, fruitful innovation and exploration and great achievements in the past eight years. He thanked them for their hard work for Wujianfang project, and encouraged them to carry forward the working spirit and innovation, well implement the power plant project and strive for greater achievements.
CR’s Deputy Managing Director Zhou Junqing and heads of CR Directors’ Office, CR Power, CR Pharmaceutical, CR Vanguard and CR Ng Fung participated in relevant activities.
