Teng Jiacai, Vice Minister of China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), and his delegation visited CR on April 16. He first inspected the CR Vanguard Superstore outlet at Hewentian Square. Later Chairman Fu Yuning and President Qiao Shibo held discussions with Vice Minister Teng at CR Headquarters.
CR leaders introduced the operation, management and development of CR’s main businesses including consumer products and pharmaceuticals in recent years, and communicated with Vice Minister Teng about CR’s long-term efforts to ensure the supply of safe food for Hong Kong.
Vice Minister Teng noted that the central government attaches great importance to food and drug safety management. Since the CFDA was founded, it has kept intensifying its system and institution, improving relevant legislation and strengthening the enforcement supervision, which have yielded some progress.
Teng affirmed CR’s food and drug safety management and said that CFDA will serve CR’s healthy development. He hoped the two sides maintain smooth communication and exchange in the joint endeavor to actively contribute to China’s food and drug safety.
Yuan Lin, Director of CFDA Division of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, Zhang Jing, Director of CFDA Division of Supervision II, Deputy Director Xiong Yan, Wang Sanhu, deputy inspector of CFDA Division of Supervision III, leaders from the CCDI Inspection Bureau at CFDA and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, as well as CR’s assistant President Wang Chuncheng and heads of CR Directors’ Office, EHS Department, CR Vanguard, CR Ng Fung and CR Pharmaceutical were present at the meeting.
