On October 13, a delegation headed by Chairman Fu Yuning and General Manager Qiao Shibo visited Xinjiang and met with Political Commissar Che Jun, and Commander Liu Qi of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC) in Urumqi. The two parties had a conference on the comprehensive cooperation between the two parties in many fields and signed a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement.

At the conference, Che first welcomed Chairman Fu and his party and outlined the history and economic development of XPCC. He said that the economy of XPCC has experienced a development history from army reclamation to agricultural reclamation. Now, XPCC has been actively transforming its development mode, adjusting its economic structure and making its best efforts to promote the urbanization, new industrialization and agricultural modernization, with remarkable achievements. There are great potentials for cooperation between XPCC and CR. He expressed his hope that the two parties will exert CR’s market advantages and XPCC’s production advantages for comprehensive strategic cooperation.

Chairman Fu first expressed his congratulations on the 60th anniversary of XPCC and his appreciation of the remarkable contributions that several generations of XPCC members to the development of Xinjiang. Chairman Fu outlined the development of CR’s major businesses and the investment projects of the Group in the retail, medicine and power sectors in Xinjiang. He said that CR and XPCC have established long-term cooperative relationship in the fields of special agricultural produces and medicine sectors. He also hoped that CR will be able to actively participate in the economic development of XPCC in the new era and enhance their cooperation in energy, medicine, retail and construction sectors, with the view of reaching out to both Mainland China and the Central Asia, promoting the win-win development of the two parties and making due contribution to the social and economic development of Xinjiang.

At the ceremony for the execution of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement, Political Commissar Che and Chairman Fu delivered their speeches, hoping that the cooperation will attain fruitful results. Commander Liu and General Manager Qiao signed the agreement on behalf of XPCC and CR. Following the agreement, the two parties will exert their resources advantages of XPCC and the industrial management and capital advantages of CR to explore possibilities of capital and industrial cooperation in consumer goods, energy and medicine sectors and promote comprehensive cooperation at all levels in terms of talents, technology and capital, with the view of promoting the prosperity and development of the Region.

Also participating in the meeting and the signing ceremony were representatives of XPCC, including Yu Xiudong (member of the Standing CPC Committee and Deputy Commander), Song Jianye (member of the Standing CPC Committee and Deputy Commander), Xu Weihua (member of the Standing CPC Committee and Deputy Political Commissar), Liu Yilei (Deputy Secretary-General) and Wang Duoshen (Director of the Bureau of Commerce), and representatives of the Group, including heads of the Directors’ Office, the Strategy Division, Vanguard, CR Power, CR Cement and Dong'e Ejiao.

During his stay in Xinjiang, Chairman Fu also visited Tiankang Group, Color Cotton Group, Tianfu Thermal Power, Tianye Group, etc, and discussed cooperation-related issues with relevant parties.
