Gutian CR Hope Town was completed on June 25. Chairman Fu Yuning, General Manager Qiao Shibo, Chen Dong, member of the CPC Committee and Deputy Governor of Fujian Province, Huang Xiaoyan, CPC Secretary of Longyan City, and Zhang Tianzhou, member of the Standing CPC Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor of Longyan City, toured the new hope town along with heads of the divisions, offices, strategic business units and Level-1 profit centers of the Group, who were attending an educational event in Gutian.

The visiting group first visited the lookout post of the Red Army in the Hope Town, where they overlooked the whole town and listened to the report of the project team on the overall development of the town. Then the group visited Wanglang Temple, Red Army Rear Area Hospital, the ecological path, the nursing home, the health center, the kindergarten, the general service center and the culture center.

During the visit, Chen commented highly on the development of the town and stressed that the town should provide following property management services, guide the villagers’ production through industrial assistance and development, provide technical guidance and ensure the sustainability of the development of various industries of the town. According to Fu, CR will further exert its own resources advantages to promote the influence of the Hope Town, development recyclable ecological agriculture, make reasonable use of local resources, development the rural collective economy, increase the income of farmers and substantially promote the living standard of local residents. Finally, Fu and Chen unveiled the monument for Gutian CR Hope Town at the square of the general service center.

Gutian CR Hope Town, located in Gutian Town, Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province, is the fourth Hope Town established by CR after hope towns established in Baise, Guangxi Autonomous Region, Xibaipo, Hebei Province, and Shaoshan, Human Province, with a planned floor area of 1635.9 mu, a population of 1051 people in 295 households. Formally launched on August 9, 2012, the project realized the goals of developing “A town of Hakka characteristics, a town of green ecology and a town of harmony and vitality” through environment improvement, industrial assistance and organizational restructure, drastically improving the living environment of the local farming population. The project also helped substantial promotion of the living standard of the townspeople by developing complete public facilities and special agricultural projects of mushroom production and Linxia chicken raising, making the town a new model of socialist rural settlement.
