On the morning of December 8, a delegation from Yunnan Province, headed by Mi Dongsheng, Vice Chairman of CPPCC of Yunnan Province and Director of the Administration of Dianzhong New Industrial Area, visited CR and were received by Qiao Shibo and Zhou Junqing on behalf of the Group. They held a discussion on further cooperation between the two parties.

Qiao welcomed Mi and his party, outlined the development of businesses of CR and the latest operations, expressed his hope that Yunnan will further enhance its support to CR for the investment in local pharmaceutical, real estate, gas and cement projects, making mutual contribution to the construction of Yunnan as a bridgehead on the southwest border of China. Heads from various sectors of the Group briefed their investments in Yunnan and the future plans and discussed and exchanged opinions on issues concerning cooperation between the two parties and the development of CR’s businesses in Yunnan.

According to Mi, the main purpose of the delegation's visit to Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong is to promote Dianzhong New Industrial Area and seek opportunities for cooperation. He said that Yunnan provincial government has decided to build “Dianzhong Industrial Cluster Area (Dianzhong Industrial New Area)" in order to implement the Bridgehead Strategic Plan. So far, the initial planning has been completed and the construction work has begun. He hoped that CR will give full play to its advantages of diversified businesses and internationalized management expertise, seize valuable opportunities to increase the fields and scale of investment in the New Area, promote the mutual development of the two parties. He also undertook that Yunnan Province will provide a variety of preferential policies for CR’s development in the province.

It is reported that Dianzhong Industrial New Area is planned to include two sections, with the western section includes Anning City, Yimen County of Yuxi City, Chuxiong City and Lufeng County of Chuxiong Prefecture, with a total land area of 10,811km2 and a planned construction area of 1149 km2, and the eastern section includes Songming County, Xundian County of Kunming City and Malong County of Qujing City, with a total land area of 7159km2 and a planned construction area of about 1,000km2. square kilometers. The New Area is planned to host medium- and high-end industries, primarily automobile and related equipment manufacturing, energy-saving and environment protection, biomedicine, new materials, optoelectronics, new generation information technology, home textile, special plateau agriculture and modern food, modern service industries.

Also present at the meeting were Yang Guangmin, member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC of Yunnan Province and Deputy Director of the Committee for Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs, leaders of the provincial Development and Reform Commission, the provincial Industry and Information Commission, the Department of Commerce, Dianzhong Industrial New Area and relevant provincial-level enterprises, as well as representatives from CR, including Deputy Secretary-General Guo Jinqing and heads of Vanguard, CR Power, CR Land, CR Gas, CR Pharmaceuticals, etc.
