On August 8, CR Group releases the social responsibility report for 2012 in Hong Kong, the sixth social responsibility report.
The report is composed of the main report by the Group and sub-reports on its key subsidiaries (namely Ng Fung, CR Beverage, CR Pharmaceutical, CR Bank, CR Textiles and CR Property). Report systematically discloses the Group's performance of its social responsibilities in 2012 and its achievements in the development of CR Hope Town and CR circular economy industrial parks from the perspectives of customers, employees, investors, partners, environment, society and responsibility management. CR Power, Vanguard and CR Snow Breweries have also compiled independent reports, which will be published on the main website of the Group and websites of its related subsidiaries along with the main report of the Group and sub-reports of its other subsidiaries.
China Resources Social Responsibility Report for 2012, complied with emphasis on the quality, features several new highlights:
—Focal topics, including “food security assurance", “provision of high-quality services", “innovation capacity enhancement”, "protection of employee benefits”, “product quality management“, “production safety”, “responsible procurement”, etc., were disclosed in greater detail, with 80% of the core indexes related to social responsibility covered in the Report. The Report was compiled in a more complete form, with the social responsibility mission, visions and philosophy fully presented.
—The Report addresses the hot topics attracting wide social attention, including the illegality of CR (Cangnan) Power Station Project and the forest destruction in Shimei Bay, Wanning, Hainan Province, in a positive and responsible manner, providing details as to the causes, rectification and improvements related to the disclosed events, making the Report more complete and increasing the scope of the Report.
—For the purpose of comparison of CR Group with other enterprises on the market, the Report is expanded to include over 50 key performance indexes based on data accumulated over the years, covering the economic responsibility, the social responsibility, employee-related responsibility, customer-related responsibility, production safety and environment responsibility, revealing the relentless efforts of CR Group in making a world-class enterprise.
—Efforts were made during the compilation of the Report to promote the readability of the Report with informative content, concise and smooth presentation using abundant cases, flow charts and diagrams. The readability is further enhanced by the exquisite and attractive up-to-date design.
—Many innovations were adopted in the compilation of the Report: The Report innovatively presented the development achievements of the Group over the past five years and the concept of social responsibility and comments on the performance of the social responsibilities in the form of “Questions and Answers from the Chairman”; The Report innovatively presented the widely diversified businesses of CR in the forms of serial pictures and CR brand tree, increasing readers' visual impression of CR; The Report for the first time outlined the huge customer base and its composition, demonstrating the social influence of the Group. Meanwhile, to complete the main report, sub-reports on several key subsidiaries were attached, fully demonstrating the activities and achievements of CR subsidiaries in performing their social responsibilities, displaying their distinctive industrial features.
In the section “Looking into 2013”, 25 initiatives are proposed, demonstrating CR’s commitments to actively perform and constantly improve its work in terms of social responsibility in terms of economic responsibility, employee-related responsibility, customer-oriented responsibility, social harmony, environment protection and production safety, public welfare and responsibility management, continuing to meet expectations of CR’s stakeholders, striving to build a public image as an enterprise trusted by investors, loved by employees, respected by society and appreciated by the public”, and creating a better tomorrow through "pursuit beyond profit".
