Chairman Fu Yuning Attends "Think Asia, Think Hong Kong" Event

Invited by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, CR Group Chairman Fu Yuning attended the Seventh “Think Asia, Think Hong Kong” and delivered a key note speech at the event, held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London on September 21.

Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Greg Hands, Minister of State for Trade and Investment addressed at the opening ceremony. At the sharing session themed "Asia Under the New Economic Situation", Fu delivered a keynote speech titled "Hong Kong: The World City of Asia". He introduced the history and current development situation of China Resources to thousands in the audience.

Fu emphasized that in the past 80 years since its foundation, CR Group has been growing and with Hong Kong, one the world's important centers of trade, finance and logistics. Fu said that along with its geographic location, Hong Kong has been increasingly integrated with Mainland China in the fields of financial trading, foreign direct investment, and tourism promotions. Hong Kong is known as the "economy with the most freedom", under the current operating legal system and its free market mechanisms. With the progress of China's economic growth, Hong Kong will play a greater role in bringing professional talents to the market and providing more ways for the world to connect and align with the national "Road and Belt" Initiative. Hong Kong will become an important tie between China and the world economy, and remain the world city of Asia, with continued prosperity and stability.

Zhu Lili, Chairman of the First Eastern Investment Group, Douglas Flint, Chairman of the HSBC Group and Frederick Ma Si-hang, Chairman of the MTR Corporation Limited also delivered their keynote speeches at the event.
